The Sapphire
Hi guys! Another epilepsy post... While I have mentioned before that St Valentine is the patron saint of epilepsy, did you know that in medieval times the Sapphire was used to ward off seizures? Jet was used in the Roman era as well, this as a tool of detection; suspected epileptics (believed to be possessed by demons) were to made to sniff the gem. If nothing happened, they would be declared demon free! Happy Friday! Toodles x

Now, I've mentioned the film before, but now I'm going to chat about the book! I am talking of course, about The Princess Bride by William Goldman :) If you love the film, with its love and swordplay, it's prince, revenge and miracle making, you will definitely love the book. Hi! People with epilepsy are just that: they are people. With epilepsy comes misunderstandings. Epileptics do not swallow their tongues, are not always 'retarded' and can lead perfectly normal lives. Men, women and children suffer with epilepsy. It can start at any age and for any reason, whether it be from illness, injury or from an unknown cause. :)
